Why Teachers-Spot exists

When schools closed in 2019, Cameroonian students had no e-learning platform of their own. Lessons moved to WhatsApp groups, where the work competed with everything else on the phone, and to YouTube, where the adverts and the recommendations pulled students away from the syllabus they were actually being examined on.

Teachers-Spot was built to be the opposite of that: a calm, distraction-free place where every video maps onto the national curriculum, and where the person teaching is a professional teacher or a subject examiner rather than an anonymous channel.

Built around the Cameroon curriculum

Both subsystems are first-class here. The English subsystem runs from Form 1 to Upper Sixth, with the GCE Ordinary and Advanced Level tracks; the French subsystem runs from 6ème to Terminale, with BEPC, Probatoire and Baccalauréat. First and second-year university subjects sit alongside them. The curriculum is configuration, not code — a second country can be added without rebuilding anything.

Chapter, lesson, video

A teacher builds a chapter for a subject and a class, splits it into lessons, and records one or more videos for each lesson — an introduction, worked examples, practice problems. Tutorials, past papers and exercise sheets attach to the chapter or the lesson they belong with.

Study without data

Data is expensive and coverage is uneven. Every lesson and resource can be saved for offline study, and the site installs as an app on a budget Android phone. What you saved stays playable when the network does not.

Ask the person who taught it

If something in a video is unclear, ask about that video — the question reaches the teacher with the lesson attached, so they know exactly what you mean. If a topic is missing, request it; the teacher sees the request in their inbox and can commit to recording it.
